My name is Alicia Mitchell and I am passionate about creating inspirational art and design that allows me to leave my designer footprint in this world. With more than sixteen years of industry and individual experience, I have the skill set, attention to detail, and an understanding of the level of dedication and professionalism required for continued success in the field of graphic design. After four years at California State University Dominguez Hills and three years at Otis College of Art & Design, I gained the solid educational experience needed to move forward into a career in design.

I am the Packaging Department Art Director at FAMBRANDS, where I lead a creative team of Graphic Designers. During my tenure at FAMBrands, I hand-picked and formed this team of six designers. Under my leadership we develop and execute creative providing packaging design, communication, visual identity and media marketing materials for our Club Buyers licensed and private label brand initiatives. My focus is building and maintaining the brand identity of our licensed partners GAP, GAPfit, Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, Woolrich, and ORVIS as well as Fambrands private labels WILDFOX, Three Dots, Peace & Pearls, Cycle House, Balance Collection, Bally Total Fitness and Marika.

My last position was Sr. Packaging Designer at Hasbro Studios where I created branding strategies and packaging design for licensed Disney girls brands, Aladdin Live Action, Descendants 3 and Frozen II.

Previously I was a Sr. Packaging Designer at Jakks Pacific, where I was the lead designer for Disney’s Sofia The First, Incredible’s 2 and Disney Multi-Brand Figurine sets. At Jakks, I was responsible for all aspects of

design, packaging and brand consistency. My duties included art directing photoshoots, development

of packaging structures, showroom design, licensor submissions, approvals and tracking design and development schedules.

Prior to my position at Jakks Pacific, I worked at Playhut where I designed packaging and assets for the Mystixxs doll line as well as Be You, Playhut X, Playhut Magic and Sunny Place. I also art directed photoshoots and produced packaging for licensed products. In addition to my contractual duties and responsibilities as a Senior Packaging Designer, I was the interim Director of Product Design at Playhut, from October, 2014 to April, 2015. For this position my adjunct duties consisted of the scheduling of projects for our in house design team as well as our Hong Kong team, managing employees in the sewing shop and approving vacation/personal time for the employees in the design department. As a result of my interim position as Director of Product DesignI discovered that I enjoy and thrive in management and would like to continue in this direction professionally.

Additionally I have done freelance and volunteer work on logos and graphics for the GT Group, Alzheimer’s Association in conjunction with the Junior League of California as well as Delta Academy,

Cal State Fullerton, REXtac LLC, The RoccaBowwow Foundation, The HEAS Foundation and the CCCF Foundation.

I believe that I have the skills and attention to detail to understand the level

of dedication and professionalism required for continued success in the field of graphic design.
